Dawn and Robert Habgood have been writing about traveling with pets for 20 years. The premise behind the series, Pets on the Go, is as focused today as it was when they started — to give people the inside scoop on the best places to stay with a pet. The Habgoods were the first people in the country to write about pet-friendly accommodations and they continue to travel thousands of miles each year to locate new places to stay and revisit their favorites. They lead the pack in providing innovative and detailed information that can only be gained through firsthand experience.

The Habgoods’ travels lead them down winding country roads to historic bed and breakfasts and beyond to seaside inns. They follow mountain roads to wilderness retreats and navigate urban canyons to uncover some of the country’s finest pet friendly hotels. Their personal experiences are what make the Pets on the Go series unique in the pet travel guide marketplace.

Dawn Habgood and Robert Habgood have appeared on the Travel Channel and in pet-travel segments for the Fox network and MSNBC. Dawn Habgood has appeared on syndicated radio programs such as NPR's The Savvy Traveler, The Dolans, and is a regular guest expert for Pet Tales. The Habgoods are also regular contributors and consultants to, as well as expert pet travel advisors for articles that have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Newsweek.

The Habgoods are co-authors of Pets on the Go! United States; Families on the Go! North America (September, 2003); and Pets on the Go for the Eastern and Western United States (October, 2003 and April, 2004). They are also co-authors of the first series of books ever written about great places to stay with a pet, On the Road Again with Man's Best Friend, as well as the critically acclaimed New England family travel guide, Me and You and the Kids Came Too. They live in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
